Yes, cats can have memory problems, usually caused by old age, genetics or other outside situations. I know of a cat who has memory problems because she has always been feed dog food, even as a baby. Dog food does not have the right kind of nutrition and now she has brain problems incudling memory loss. Also if a cat gets really old they can experience slight memory loss.
