The filters of cigarettes are supposed to filter out the bad things that you are smoking, so they do not go into your lungs. A lot of people think they are more dangerous, however they have no scientific link to causing cancer.

∙ 11y agoNot if they are left in the pack. If they are smoked, yes. The connection is well documented, and smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer. There are also some very negative effects associated with so-called second hand smoke.
The smoke you inhale while smoking any type of cigarette (especially tobacco) contains tar and poisonous chemicals that can cause lung cancer, as well as conditions such as emphysema.
