You should ask your instructor if you are educated enough to ride in the rain and if you have to ask him/her what to do or how to control the horse.
And if you are riding your horse in the lake you should use a halter and lead rope.

∙ 11y agoGenerally a horse does not mind getting wet in the rain unless it is windy, and especially if it is windy and cold out. When it becomes windy a horse will either turn it's back to the wind or search for shelter. When it is cold and windy the horses will usually group together with their backs to the wind to stay warm. If the horses are owned by humans then the human can either bring them inside or put a light waterproof sheet on them until the wind stops blowing or it warms up.
