Well, most of them don't live more than one season, but yes, they do hibernate if they get the chance. Ladybirds hibernate during the winter in sheds, trees and houses. Sometimes the heating in houses can wake them up early and then they will starve because there is none of the aphids that they usually feed on. If a ladybird is crawling about in your house you should put it in a cold garage or shed where it will continue hibernating.
This word means: hibernation for insects... Diapause. Definition: a period during which growth or development is suspended and pysiological activity is diminished, as in certain insects in response to adverse enviromental conditions.

because they do
They cluster together on branches.
Well you mostly won't see ladybugs in winter because that's when they hibernate. You are most likely to see them in spring.
yes they actually do hibernate..... just like bears!, during winter
Ladybugs hibernate in the winter and wake up just as spring flowers are starting to bloom. This sleep period allows them to survive the cold weather, and you can mimic that winter rest period by placing them in the refrigerator.
Ladybugs survive by eating aphids on plants and when its the winter they will actually hibernate under leaves and in the bark of trees.
Ladybugs actually hibernate in the winter. They look for someplace that is not exposed to the elements, so they end up crawling into holes or cracks in walls, attics, and other similar spots.
They huddle together in a ball to hibernate. The lucky ones on the inside stay warm, but the ones on the outside eventually sacrifice their lives to the cold.
During winter months ladybugs "overwinter" or hibernate. They seek shelter under rocks/plants and they group together in aggregates varying from a few ladybugs up to tens of thousands depending on the particular species of ladybug. Also to conserve energy they slow down their metabolic rate. http://flickr.com/photos/j-fish/2281357056/ http://www.eje.cz/scripts/viewabstract.php?abstract=1197 Based on this, do ladybugs find this time enjoyable? I would imagine they would prefer to eat and make more ladybugs. So no, lady bugs don't like the cold.
First-off, are you sure that they are ladybugs and not Asian Lady Beetles? They look similar to Lady Bugs but are typically more organish versus red and may or may not have spots. Asian Lady Beetles hibernate, which is why you will see them in large swarms in the fall.
During hibernation nothing. they fatten up with aphids before. Hibernation for insects is called diapuse and differs lightly from hibernation in some other animals in a few ways such as they do not grow during that period.
what are ladybugs lifecycle
Bats, frogs, snakes, ladybugs, amphibians, and turtles. When they hibernate their heart rate, blood pressure, and kidney function go down. They hibernate so they don't freeze to death. Rabbits hibernate also.
Ladybugs get around by flying and crawling. Ladybugs have to be decent flyers in order to escape from their predators, otherwise they would die.
