it is more comfortable for them to sleep upside down all fish sleep that way ,but if they're dead the will be in another direction. Another way for you to know if they are alive and they are upside down is if you see them breathing ,if you own one shake the and you will see thaat they start to sleep then they will go back to sleep. ; )
