For a higher sucess rate of the baby mice being born or growing up, once you see the mother mouse begin building a nest she should be placed by herself until the babies are out and about by themselves in whatever you have placed the mother mouse in.

answer i would say yes u can ask a pet sore for more info

i have heard the father can hurt the babies but that hasn't happened to mine i left the father mouse wid its babies i think its ok but if she has many babies 4+ then he should be removed if u don't want another batch of babies in 3 weeks its best to remove the male straight away because she can get pregnant within 24 hours of giving birth so watch out for that! i had big problems!!and also the babies inbreed with the mother so remove the baby boys when they are 4 weeks old but don't put them with the father because they will fight if a male doesnt know or hasn't growen up with another male in the cage they will hurt each other...

Even with very aggressive males, I've never seen a male mouse eat it's babies. Many male mice are actually helpful and will care for the babies as well. A female mouse can get pregnant again within 24 hours of having a litter of mice, so if you don't want mice everywhere, it's best to take the male out. If you'd like to give your mouse some help, female mice tend to get along really well and other females will help your mother mouse take care of it's young.

Father mice like reproducing every chance they get.

So in other words, they'll eventually "rape" their offspring.. But no they will not eat their babies. <3

I have a litter of mice right now, & the father is being a really good father.

though he does like "snuggling" more with the baby girl mice. :)

OMGoodness yes, all of them, the newborns too, well after they are done feeding with their mother. Mice don't care, or don't they EVEN have to care, because they will reproduce with their sister, aunt, daughter, and cousin's. They will just keep making more little rat babies. unless you have a snake farm, or wanna bunch of mice, then yes separate them. I know, cause were had mice that it happened with. Their like rabbits, they reproduce alot. Also, I think, but don't quote me on this, but they might eat the babies.

Yes you should separate a pregnant mother from the male and/or any other mice. Keep her that way till the babies are done nursing.

NO the male mouse is a superb parent to baby including newborn mice. He will protect, care for and calm the babies by 'standing over" them. Do NOT remove the male mouse, he aids the female mouse in calming her and preventing them from being eaten.

Do NOT separate the male mouse especially if he is the father to the babies and has been living with the female. He is a great parent as long as they have been living together for some time and he will greatly help with the raising of the babies
