1.67492729(28)×10 kg Is the mass of a neutron whick is actually larger than a proton. Neutrons have no electrical charge so as a extra I have a science joke -A neutron walked into a bar and

asked how much for a drink. The bartender replied, "for you, no charge."

Hope this helps:)

That depends on the context. A neutron has approximately the same mass as a proton, and approximately 1800 times the mass of an electron. Whether that is negligible depends on the problem at hand.

Compared to the size of an atom, No! If an atom were the size of an average sized home, a neutron would be the size of a speck of dust.

Why is mass number calculated with only the protons and neutrons and not electrons?

Because the mass of electron is negligible when compared to the mass of protons or neutrons.

What is this element atomic mass?

mass of protons + mass of neutrons present in the element (as the mass of electrons is practically negligible)

Where is most of the mass of an atom contain?

in the nucleus of an atom -proton and neutrons , electrons in the orbit has the negligible mass.

What is the mass of an ion with 107 electrons?

electrons have negligible mass. the mass of the ion depends on how many protons and neutrons are present.

Why don't he include the electron in atoms mass?

when compared to the mass of protons and neutrons, the mass of the electrons is negligible and hence not included in atomic mass.

Why is the atomic mass generally used to refer to just the number of protons and neutrons?

The weight of an electron is negligible compared to that of protons and neutrons.

Which subatomic particles makes up most of the mass off the atom?

The major contribution to the mass of an atom is from protons and neutrons; electrons have a known but negligible mass.

What particle contributes a negligible amount to the atomic mass?

There are a number of particles of particularly low mass. Electrons have much less mass than either protons or neutrons, and so are negligible in calculating the mass of an atom. However, electrons are still much heavier than neutrinos or photons, which are even more negligible in mass.

What product of nuclear decay has mass but no charge?

Neutrons have no charge, but have mass. This is also true of neutrinos, though the mass is considered negligible for most purposes.

the atomic mass of carbon 13 is 13 lt has six protons how many neutrons does this isotope

What makes an element more massive?

The more protons and neutrons that are in the element and isotope electrons are negligible in terms of mass.

Which particles account for most of the atoms mass?

Physics has not managed to discover a particle that accounts for mass
