Polar Bears are actually more in danger of over-heating then hypothermia. The Bear can swim in frozen ocean water with no ill-effect. To hunt Polar Bear the native have their sled dogs harrass them until the faint from heat exhaustion (doesn't really take all that long either), and then they walk up to them and harpoon them.

no, he is always warm The polar bears heat retention adaptations render it more in danger of over-heating then getting cold. One way of hunting Polar Bears is to get the dogs to chase it till it drops from heat exhaustion and then the hunter (inuvik) walks up to it and stabs it to death with a harpoon. After exerting itself a Polar Bear must find water to cool down in.

No.Polar bears have very effective ways of keeping themselves warm that they actually are more at risk for overheating. If the temperature rises above fifty or they are active for a long time they will overheat.because of the hair and fat called blubber they stay very warm

As cold as possible. Polar bears hunt mainly seals or the smaller whales, out on the frozen ice pack. When the ice has melted in the Arctic summer, the polar bears often need to resort to scavenging, or go hungry until the ice returns in the Arctic winter. Their double thick fur protects them from the cold, but makes it uncomfortable during the warmer seasons.

Why do polar bears kill other polar bears?

They are naturally aggressive to other male bears when they encounter each other, although polar bears are free ranging and don't establish and mark territory. They will attack and kill the cubs of another male so that they can then mate with the female. They will fight with the female as she tries to protect the cubs, although not usually to the death. Other times, although rare, it may be because they are starving.polar bears kill other polar bears to demand their territory and because of male stress
