What are speedos?
Speedos are brief like swimwear. Most people that wear speedos are professional swimmers, divers, and water polo players. In the United States most people do not wear speedos as recrational swimwear. Speedo is a brand name of a company the produces swimwear. The term became used as a general definition of swimwear that resembles a bikini bottom that men, or boys, wear as a bathing suit.. It can be considered very revealing, especially when wet. Boys, these days, tend to wear baggy shorts styled swimwear known also as boardies. When I was a kid, just about all my friends wore speedos. I wore the baggy shorts.

What could you wear under your new swimming jammers to prevent your member from being seen and would do need to?
Lol this question makes me laugh! If you are talking about a swim meet, absolutely DO NOT wear anything under you jammers as it will create unnecessary drag. If this is not your biggest meet of the season and you are 100% NOT tapered for it, that would be a question to bring up with your coach! If this is just practice you're talking about, most male swimmers will either wear speedos and a drag suit or jammers with a drag suit. Drag suits are the mesh short type things. Sorry I don't have a better description of them!

Do swimmers wear a jock cup?
Most swimmers just wear Speedo or Speedo-like swimming suits. Some swimmers wear a "swimmers jockstrap" too. A "swimmers jockstrap" has a narrow 1-inch waist-band, which is smaller than the standard 3-inch waist-band of a standard jockstrap. The narrower 1-inch waistband will not reveal the jockstrap as much and the jockstrap waist-band will stay under the swimming suit. However, male swimmers who want to show a bigger "package" may chose to wear a cup-jockstrap under their swimming suit to enhance their masculine appearance. But they don't really need the protection of a cup when they are swimming. So it is all a mater of personal preference.

Why don't kids wear speedos?
I used to wear them in the early 90's when I was on a swim team in Europe (we lived on a US Military base). I also would wear them at the beach when we came back to the US when I was 14. I remember getting some weird looks and stares but I didn't care because they were comfortable and dried really quick! Normally only professionals wear speedos because they are expensive. Kids, normally are not professional swimmers. Answer some do. Just not in the USA, many Europeans do, especially in France and Germany Answer Some do. Most guys in the US are to in secure with there bodies (too big, or too small). I am 22 and I wear speedos and I don't care what some people think. they are just mad that they think they don't look good in speedos or just scared. Kids used to but stopped for some reason 7 or 8 years ago. Answer: When I was growing up, all us kids wore speedos. Now I am 42 years old and I notice that kids don't wear speedos anymore. I guess when boardies (swim trunks) became popular, the speedo died out. Now, because less boys are wearing it, one might be embarrassed if he had to wear a speedo (swim team) because it reveals too much. We never seemed to mind.
