Yes, I assume so. When my dog reached his limit in life, he was creating these strange howls before he fell silent. So I guess they do know when they are about to die, but only if they are dying "naturally" (which means not having some sort of other predator kill them).

∙ 11y agoAs amazing as it may seem, most cats seem to know when they are about to die.
If they are able to, they go to a place they consider safe.
In other words, wild cats hide somewhere where they are out of normal reach.
Domestic cats and pets (as in cats) will maybe crawl under a bed, or just go to their favourite place for relaxing. If they have a place where they are normally left alone, then that is where they will be.

∙ 13y agoOften they become slow, lazy, and most animals that know they are dying will not eat. If your cat is showing unusual symptoms, it would be best to take it to a vet.
