That depends on which year of Envoy you had in mind. If you have a 1998 - 2000 Envoy, yes - the Envoy for those years was just a trim package for the Jimmy (likewise, the TrailBlazer was a trim package for the Blazer). However, after those model years. While the Chevrolet Blazer continued production afterwards, the Envoy/Jimmy was discontinued after the 2000 model year.
2004 model years and newer are an entirely different platform, and those parts will not interchange.
You need to remove the grill and then the headlight assemblies. I had to remove the battery as well to get at the last bolt for the headlight assembly. There are about 6 bolts and 4 preasure clips holding the grill on.
To replace the headlight assembly on a 2006 Jetta, remove the front grill. Then remove the headlight assembly by taking off the screws that secure it in place. Replace with new.Ê
First remove the headlight assembly by removing the grill. Remove the bulb. It can be tricky to remove the grill if you are not careful. Remove the clips that hold in place. Install the new headlight.
The 1997 Chevrolet suburban grills are interchangeable. The composite style grill will need some modification as to mounting the grill.
Look in the Owner's Manual. Considering that it's GM they have surprisingly clear instructions for changing bulbs to removing grill to R&R headlight assembly.
Figured it out... Remove plastic trim from on top of radiator support. Remove grill. Remove battery & light sockets. remove 4 bolts... remove headlight assembly. Cheers
To replace the headlight assembly on on 03 Jetta, the grill and front bumper have to be removed before you can get to the screws below the lamp.
You didn't say what year so here goes. On older models you need to remove the plastc grill piece to access it. On newer models there is a L shaped pin on the top of the headlight that when pulled up releases the headlight assembly.
Loosen the screws of the lower grill and headlamp assembly so that it can be removed from the fenders. Remove the upper grill fasteners and remove the grill. Take off the headlight housing. Remove the headlamp motor and housing. Take out the headlight. Now the fender can be unbolted and removed.
you have to remove the turn signal light and some of the trim (grill) to get to the screws that hold the light assembly in place. 10 minute job.
The assembly is held in place by the two 7/16 " nuts that secure the parking lights. So after you remove the two screws at the top and the 7/16" nuts at the bottom (removing the battery on the passenger side is very helpful), the light assembly is now loose. Twist the light bulbs to free them from the grill assembly and finish removing the grill. The headlight will be held in place by the inner grill assembly. You can now proceed with the removal of the front grill. Remove the 4 screws at the top of the grill and the one screw in the center below the logo and remove the grill. Then remove the 5/16" screw in the center, the two screws that face to the outside of the vehicle on each side at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock. Below those at the front is a single screw at the bottom and then the two screws that secure the inner grill assembly to the front quarter-panels. The headlight assembly is then easily replaced by removing the clips that secure the assembly to the grill and removing the old assembly and installing the new ones. Then re-install the grill assemblies in revers order of removal.
The easiest way is to pull the long bolts out of the headlight at the top of the grill, i think a 5.5mm socket fits it, the whole assembly pulls out when they are removed, and it is easily installed.
