Average withdrawal time from Lexapro?
Not sure on the exact amount of time it takes to withdraw from Lexapro, but it sounds like it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months or more depending on how your body responds to the withdrawal. My own experience to date is as follows: After taking first 10 mg of Lexapro for 1 1/2 years, my dosage was increased to 20 mg. Now that I have been on the new dosage for almost 1 1/2 years, I have decided it is time to see if I can cope without taking Lexapro any more. I began weaning myself off with the advice of my doctor. I began by decreasing my dosage from 20 mg to 10 mg daily. After 10 days, I stopped taking lexapro all together (under by Dr.'s advice) and the result was many withdrawal symptoms such as: headache, burning stomach pain, dizziness, fatigue and acid reflux. The headache doesn't respond to Tylenol or advil and sleep is the only way to improve the headache, which isn't possible during the work day. The dizziness is the most irritating symptom and the one that concerns me the most since I have been known to faint when I get dizzy. After doing research on the web, I discovered that taking a multi-vitamin may help with the withdrawal symptoms. I am not sure if it will work or not, but it is worth a try. Also, I have read that sometimes you have to wean yourself more slowly and for a longer period of time. I have a call to my dr. to see if I need to start taking smaller doses of lexapro before weaning myself all together.

This is completely unrelated. There are no known health effects of lunar eclipses, or solar eclipses for that matter, on people - pregnant or otherwise.

Oh yea!! I worked really good but it made me sleepy, I could have slept all day if I had the oppourtunity. I was having panic attacks in my sleep which would case me to wake up constantly and then I would get depressed from the lack of sleep, so the being sleepy on the Lexapro did not bother me because I was finally able to sleep. Try taking it at night before you go to sleep. That might help because if you take it in the morning, it will make you tired all day, but if you take it at night you might sleep off the tired feeling and have more energy in the day. Also, when I weaned off the Lexapro, I took me about a month and a half and I had no side effects during the weaning process. Just don't stop cold turkey. If or when you try to wean off, I can give some good pointers on the process.

yes, it can i used to be on 10mg of lunesta at night and 10mg of lex during the day. but be careful while taking lunesta, you can do some crazy things in your sleep. do a little research.

I did this once. Say you are taking 10mg of Lexapro daily. Do a week first of 10mg one day, 5mg the next, 10 mg, 5, 10, 5, etc. Then, do a week of taking all 5mg. Then, do a week of taking 5mg, 0, 5, 0, 5, etc. Then you will likely be ok being off it! I had really bad side effects during the 0-5-0-5 week. To make it easier, I added another week of 0-0-5-0-0-5. That helped me! To get 5mg, either get a pill-splitter or use a knife and cut them in half. Good luck and take your time! :-) Tom - Everything I have read suggests a much slower weaning process to avoid withdrawal sysmptoms. Also, avoid alcohol while weaning.
