depends on what it is...and how much water...but ceramic is pretty much like the equivalent of glass when it comes to floating in water...probably more heavier though

Yes and no. If you set a solid ball of ceramic in water, it will sink. If you take the same amount of ceramic and make as large a hollow ball with it as you can, and THEN set it in water, it will float. Anything floats if its weight is less than the weight of the amount of water it displaces. That's why very large ships can be made of steel.

It depends upon the shape. A ceramic in the shape of a boat could float. A solid ceramic ball would probably sink.

What can float in the water?

Many things can float in water. An object will float based on 2 main factors. They are density and shape. If an object is too dense, it will sink. But why would shape matter? The shape of the object affects how the water is displaced. If the weight of the water displaced is more than the weight of the object that is touching the water, the object will float. So the shape affects how much water is displaced therefore determines if an object will float.

How can you make a bottle float then sink then float?

A bottle, though heavier than water, can be made to float by trapping air inside of it. This same bottle can be made to sink by filling it with water, or a substance heavier than water. It can again float by emptying it and trapping air in it.

How will you determine if something will float in water?

If the object, when submerged in water, displaces a volume of water whose mass is greater than its own, then it will float. The density of the material from which it is made is not the key as can be seen from the fact that ships made of metal will float.

Can light things float on water?

If it has enough surface area such as a leaf or bigger yes so long as it lands on the water in such a way it traps a little air under it, note..even concrete can float, many septic tanks are made of concrete and will float in only about a foot of water if you dont remember to fill them with water before it rains
