In my opinion it really depends on what games you play, some games actually induce stress, such as 1st person shooter games (especially if they are online games), but racing games (NOT NASCAR GAMES!) such as burnout paradise city they can sometimes reduce stress. so it really depends on what and how you play some games. Especially when you get blow up other guys on online games in 1st person shooter games!
As in life, video gaming makes me happy when it goes well. If I beat a level, or accomplish something, then it is definitely satisfying. For me, gaming works as a nice balance to work and stressful things. For others, gaming might be an escape from misery or stark reality, in which case I'm not so sure it can do much in the way of increasing happiness.
Yes, they can be. But this depends how you play them, if you just play them to go on a rampage through town(ex. True Crime, Grand Theft Auto, etc) then turn the game off when your calm then they can be a stress reliever. But they can also become a stress builder, if you get angry while playing the game.

I'm not absolutely sure but I know that music is used to trigger emotions so if it triggers a certain emotion it probably will affect heart rate.
Video games can affect everyone and everything around you if you negelect your basic duties in favor of playing video games. Things like, ignoring your pets, family, relatives, letting your sink pile up with dishes, etc. So long as you keep your dog fed, video games will not affect him/her.
