Do you have to be religious to be a naturist?

No, there is no connection between Naturism and religion except that some falsely believe that the Bible condemns it. This has been shown not to be the case.

Pope John Paul II wrote: "The human body can remain nude and uncovered and preserve intact its splendour and its beauty... Nakedness as such is not to be equated with physical shamelessness... Immodesty is present only when nakedness plays a negative role with regard to the value of the person...The human body is not in itself shameful... Shamelessness (just like shame and modesty) is a function of the interior of a person."

There is no conflict between Christianity and Naturism and equally no dependency. Naturists come from many different religious and non-religious backgrounds. The important property of a Naturist is respect for others.
