no they pute glue(tastes really bad) on your braces then they shine a light up to it and it dries the glue no pain envolved.

I myself are getting braces in a few weeks and the doctor said ill be fine without needles.
It depends on the Posture of your teeth, if its really that bad then you MAY have injections, ive heard of people getting needles but it wont hurt. If you do get braces and needles are needed it feels like a small prick on your gum. So most of the time injections are NOT needed so relax.
Anyways if your that nervous getting braces dont worry bcuz i am too but the good side of thing is you get to pick the colour and try not to think too much about it.

∙ 12y agono, you don't get a shot when you get braces. getting the braces doesn't actually hurt. once they insert the wire you will feel slight pain but nothing too agonizing. you will be sore for a few days though so make sure to eat soft foods.
a little tip: take Tylenol right before you get your braces so that by the time the full pain arrives, the painkillers will have already kicked in, minimizing the pain.
