Do you have to pay child support if the other parent has sole custody?

Usually yes, but the amount will be based on factors such as

your income, the other parent's income, etc. Try citizens advice

bureau (if you're based in the UK) or equivalent for specific

advice. In the US custody and child support are different issues,

one has no bearing on the other. If there is a child support order

in place the terms should be adhered to until/unless the support

order is rescinded or amended. The paying parent should never

arbitrarily cease paying the required amount on the specified date.

Such action can result in contempt of a court order, nonsupport of

minor children charges and so forth which may result in the non

compliant parent being jailed.
