Do you have to remove the drivers side axle to remove the transmission from a 1996 Dodge Caravan 3.3 ltr?

Yes, and on some, the right has to be pulled too. You are basically taking the whole front of the car apart. Hope you have a good book, if not go to the Library if you have trouble. And the axle nuts are torqued to about 170ft lbs torque, so you will have to remove them while the vehicle is on the ground, and someone is hold the brake pedal down.
