Sorry to say, yes you do. The fuel pump and fuel sending unit are both in the tank. You may want to consider buying a new fuel pump if yours has a lot of miles/time on it. Dropping the tank is a project I only like do once every 5 years but it is your call and your money.

You have to remove the fuel tank.
The 1993 Nissan oil sending unit is located on the bottom of the engine inside of the oil pan. You will need to remove the oil pan in order to view the sending unit.

The fuel pump is in the tank on this truck. Get as much gas out of it as possible and then remove the fuel lines and electrical connections and take the straps off and lower the tank.Rent a special tool from the parts store to renove the sending unit and pump. Then reverse everything to put it back.
A 93 model does not have a cabin filter. SORRY

You must remove gas tank, then remove sending unit from gas tank and fuel pump is located in sending unit. Ensure gas filter is not clogged before performing this job.
Remove the rear seat...You'll see the sending unit with the connectors(it's a metal plate)...Remove all the screws,unplug the connectors and hoses and the whole sending unit comes out in one piece....It's very easy//
