Is it common for the timing belt on a 2006 Nissan xtera to go out?

After 105,000 miles it would be very common as it must be replaced at that mileage or 10 years whichever comes first. Before that it would be very uncommon.

How do you release the spare tire on a 2000 Nissan Xtera?

Locate your tire tool underneath the carpet in the cargo area. There's a little hole above the rear license plate in the trailer hitch area. Insert the flat end of the tire tool (or a long, wide flat-head screwdriver) into the slot beyond the opening and turn.

What engine can you put in a 1992 Nissan hardbody 4x4?

You can actually put a lot of engines in there the question is what are you going to do with the truck. also what engines will match up with your ECU and what engines will cause the least headache in attaching all the little items on it. If I'm not mistaken you probably had a VG series, Nissans most popular 6 cylinder from the years surrounding that truck, you could even go get a supercharged engine out of an Xtera and throw it in there. I'd look around the junk yards for a pathfinder or 6 cylinder hardbody engine, that would be easiest. or check out NISSANCUSTOMS.COM they mainly concern themselves with mini truckers (what any normal 2wd Nissan owner does!) but the engines are all the same and they are very nice and knowledgeable. you probably don't even have to join, just search the forums as I'm sure that question has been asked a hundred times

How do I repair Wiper linkage on a 2001 Nissan Xtera?

This website has an exploded view with the part numbers you might need. http://www.courtesyparts.com/xterra-wd22-2000-2004/genuine-nissan-parts/body-electrical/288-windshield-wiper/-c-532_14_53_411.html Some times the linkage just pops out but somethimes the plastic SEAL-BALL RETAINER[28828] breaks and needs to be replaced. 1. Remove the boot around the antenna (just pull it up). 2. Remove the antenna (unscrews). 3. Remove the plastic caps at the base of the wiper (They just slide back). 4. Remove the nuts that holds the wiper arms. 5. Remove the rubber gasget at the base of the hood (clips just pop up). 6. Remove the plastic cowel at the base of the windshield. (just pops up. remove drivers side first then passengers) Some of the steps you will need to have the hood up.

How do you remove the ecu from a 2004 Nissan Xterra?

on the 2000 xtera 3.3L V6 the computer is located under the center console of the dashboard (straight down from the radio and on the tunnel of the floor) On the drivers side by the gas pedal there is a white plastic block wiring connector with a bolt in the center. As you remove the bolt the connector pulls out (when its out dont touch the pins on the computer as static electricity could ruin the computer) Now go to the opposite side (passenger side) pull the carpet down from the tunnel. Cut the plastic tie wraps from the big wiring harness that connects it to the ECM. Should be 2 one white one grey. Dont cut the wiring harness!!! Lift the harness up above the ECM. Remove the entire center console on the floor mounted to the tunnel. The one around the shift lever can be removed enough without removing the handles by moving the selector to low and the 4WD lever to 4WD low. lift console up and turn sideways. May need to remove the plastic trim from around the radio. Now theres 2 bolts holding the ECM bracket to the floor tunnel. remove them. When the ECM is completely loose slide it out toward the passenger side making sure the wiring harness is above it. It may need to be twisted and turned to get it out. On the side of the ECM there should be a piece of tape labeled diagnostic screw . Turning the screw clockwise for 2 seconds then counter clockwise will cause the service engine soon light to blink a pattern of trouble codes stored in memory. these codes are the same as the P0000 codes except a different chart is used. They are given by the light WITHOUT the ZEROS. and the numbers are different than the ones used by a scan tool. To CLEAR the CODES turn the screw clockwise again... codes will clear from memory. Then turn the screw counterclockwise. DO ALL THIS WHILE THE KEY IS IN THE RUN POSITION , ENGINE NOT RUNNING AND THE HARNESS CONNECTOR WITH THE BOLT IN THE CENTER IS CONNECTED TO THE PCM. INSTALLATION IS THE OPPOSITE OF REMOVAL!!!!........I always loved that part!!! The code chart can be had by going to the public library website then to EBESCO HOST look up auto repair enter the vehicle information then go to engine performance and find the chart for trouble codes when a scan tool is not available, because it probably wont be available when you break down. HOPE THIS HELPED!!!
