Seeing it's a 1990 model it probably has a speedo cable. Either it's the sending unit on the transmission, the speedo cable, or the gauge in the dash. You'll want to try to get behind the gauge in the cluster. Disconnecting the parts can be a pain, take your time. In fact make sure you get a guide or something, cause it's bound to have hidden screws and parts. Once the gauge is removed from the cable, drive the car briefly forward to see if it spins. If it doesn't, then you know it's further down the line. Sometimes the cable can bind up and break. Personally, i'd say the likely hood is 1)broken cable 2)broken gauge in cluster 3)broken speedo gear in the tranny. Best of luck!
It is the two wire sensor screwed in next to the thermostat housing.
Wiper motor in my 1989 Dodge Dynasty was not located in the engine bay . Rather, it was hidden under the grill that sits between the windshield and the hood. Access via remove the grill screws, remove grill and you can see it . I discovered this when the wipers stopped functioning due to wires disconnected in this location . I do not know how that could happen .
You will known when the fuel pump is working on the 1989 Dodge Dynasty because the engine will get fuel from the fuel tank. If the fuel pump is not working, the motor will be unable to idle or run.
THEY ONLY MADE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE AS FAR AS I KNOW
All you will know from the VIN code is what plant built the car. The VIN doesn't show anything about where the car was sold from.
A car has a speedometer. When you read the speed that it indicates, and you know the direction in which you're driving, then you know the car's velocity.
if he doesnt know how then he must not be a very good mechanic, i have a 92 Spirit, same engine and trans as your caravan, that's if your packing the 2.5L engine... the speedsensor in the back should have the speedometer built
on either the top or the side of the transmission, if you find out other wise let us know I'm also installing a new speed sensor on my 2000 dodge, and according to auto zone that is where it is.... The speedometer sensor on a 1997 and before is on the tail shaft of the trans/transfer case. On 1998 and later the speedometer signal comes from the abs sensor on top of the rear axle.
A guage/ auto electric or speedometer shop can recalibrate the speedometer to adjust for bigger or smaller tire size. Why do you want to know that?
If by 'set' you mean to match it to an old speedometer's settings to read proper speeds, look on the back of the speedometers and you should see a group of small switches. Make sure the switch positions on the new speedometer match the positions on the old speedometer. Assuming the old speedometer was set correctly to begin with, the new one should now read your speeds and mileages correctly. If it doesn't, contact your local Dodge dealer, they should be able to find the correct setting for your vehicle (they will likely need to know the VIN first).
the hose that fits on the air filter on my 88 dodge dynasty was taken loose from the motor, I know it fits on to the manifold but I can't find where it hook up. help
