no, you don't even have to have the CD to install, in fact the CD does little to nothing, it just automatically starts the client download instead of going to the Guild Wars site and clicking download

∙ 11y agoIf you do not want to have to download the entire game from Blizzard, then you need a CD to install the game. Otherwise, you can just download the game and install it that way. Either way, to play the full version, you need the basic account and all expansions up-to-date.
