When drying beans, I usually let the pods partially dry by themselves on the bean plant. Be sure to watch them carefully, since the pods will break open and spill to the ground. When the pods are close to breaking open, I remove the bean pods and remove the beans, spreading them on newspaper or paper towels. Check them daily, and when they are sufficiently dry, put them in containers to store them. Dried beans will last for years.
