Do you need to disconnect the AC to replace the heater core on a 1996 Honda Passport?

you should only have to take loose the heater hoses where they go into the firewall and of course the heater core itself

They just bolt onto a bracket, you just have to disconnect the wire after disconnecting batt and can do with a few handtools, but must remove the belt. That is easier if you can round up a helper

To replace the alternator on a 1995 Honda Civic disconnect the battery. Disconnect the wiring from the alternator. Loosen the adjustment bracket so the belt has slack. Remove the alternator belt along with the mounting hardware. Pull the alternator and replace it.
