∙ 13y agoBritish passport holders automatically get 30 days free via when entering Sri Lanka. If you stay ijn Sri Lanka for more than 30 days you need to pay a fee for the time beyond 30 days. So, as long as you are not in Sri Lanka for more than 30 days you do not need to do anything and do not need a visa to enter the country.

Yes you need to visa for going to Srilanka. On arrival to Sri Lanka or they must obtain a visa in advance. All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months.

I should imagine that you would need to contact the appropriate authority in Cairo for the passport and then the British Consulate for a visa. You can probably check out if a visa is necessary by looking on the British Consulate web site which I think is in Cairo.
