Taking off an alternator on a 1997 Honda Civic requires removal of the old belt. Loosen the belt pulley and pull it off when there is enough slack. Loosen the bracket bolts on the alternator. Be sure to unplug all electrical components and remove the alternator.
An air conditioning belt on a 2000 Honda Civic is adjusted with a pulley. The loosen the adjustment pulley to create enough and pull the belt off. Remove the torque mount bolts to allow enough room to slip out the old belt and install the new belt.

The adjusting pulley for the power steering is found on the side of the engine under the power steering pump. Loosen the bolt that keeps it tight and the belt will have some slack to slide off the pulley.

Remove the engine brush cover under the front of the engine. Remove the drive belt to make changing the sensor easier (optional). Remove the lower timing belt cover and the crankshaft pulley to access the crankshaft position sensor. Disconnect the electrical modules from the crankshaft position sensor, located next to the alternator. Take off the bolts with a socket wrench and remove the sensor.
The oil pump on a 1992 Honda Civic is located underneath the engine. The pump is placed through the crankshaft and as the crankshaft spins it operates the oil pump.
93 civic has a timing belt... if its dual overhead cams, it is nessecary to find the timing marks.. set them properly to their marks as well as the crankshaft. once these are properly set slip your timing belt on and then find the mark for your idler pulley.. reinstall everything and drive away

it is located behind the timing belt cover at the bottom half. you will need to remove the belts, crank pulley (reverse threads) and the attaching bolts to the plastic cover. it is the only sensor located next to the crankshaft it self. two wires one blue and one white. goodluck.
