It's programmed into the engine ECM. It's not a physical object which can be removed.
Because you have to at least be at 25 mph or 30 km/h
I have a 2003 Tiburon GT (V6, 6-speed) and my auto insurance company definitely considers it a sports car. Personally I think it is a sporty car, but not a sports car.

Connector "J", Pin# 04 is the wire for the speed sensor on the BCM(Brain Control Module). I only know this from downloading the schematic from hyundai's web site. I needed this information when I installed my GPS system. Hope this helps you.
There is an output speed sensor located in the lower (looking into the engine bay) right hand side mounted to the transaxle in the front portion on the top just underneath the air cleaner.

Remove the clutch lever off the top of the transmission and reinstall upside down then rotate counterclockwise as you pull the transmission out. To install do the process backward.
