there are many earthquakes in China because China is near the sea and also by the sea is a massive plate called the tectonic plate. the tectonic plate can split into 3 different ways and those ways make lots of earthquakes. there is the destructive plate (plates that move away from each-other), constructive plate (plates that move towards each-other-makes mountains) and transform plate (slide past each-other) they all make the ground(earth) move and shake.

Yes, mostly in western China close to the Himalayan foothills. The Himalayas are still growing as well as eroding so there will be earthquakes in that region for millions of years to come.
