To paraphrase Dr. Albert Hofmann (the creator of LSD who had studied it for twenty plus years before it's popularity in the sixties.) about this situation:

Lsd can not be proven to cause fetal deformalities. Since millions have taken LSD there should be many reports of problems if problems existed.

AnswerIt should also be recognized that Dr. Albert Hofmann found in early trials of LSD on animals that the drug had some negative effects on the uterus -- mainly that it caused uterine contractions, and presumably, that the fetus experienced some of the same effects of the drug as the mother. For this reason, it is strongy urged that pregnant women do not take LSD. Later, in the sixties and seventies, there were numerous tests done that argued LSD could cause chromosomal damage. However, the results of these tests were less than conclusive due to contested validity.

All of that said, the best answer to this question is simple -- ask your doctor. So long as your doctor paid attention in ethics class, you won't be sent to jail (or fined), and you need to see if anything may be done for the child.

I would definitely say they don't go together.

LSD is known to cause uterus movements, so there is a risk of miscarriage asssociated to it. some studies have also shown interaction with the child's DNA with really high doses. other studies have also shown no interraction at all.

it is recommended to avoid all drugs during pregnancy, anyways, for the health of the baby. especially during the first trimester which is the moment that the fetus is the most vulnerable.

Although LSD is related to drugs which cause uterine contractions (some of these are used medicinally to stop post-partum bleeding and facilitate placental delivery) so far there is no evidence that LSD effects childbirth in humans at typical doses. Evidence also indicates that LSD does not cause chromosomal damage and teratogenic effects.

Decades ago, it was suspected that LSD caused chromosomal damage which could lead to birth defects. This hypothesis has since been shown to be incorrect. Studies on the effects of LSD on fetuses have not shown significant differences between normal fetuses and LSD-exposed fetuses. However, there are two important things to note. Firstly, these studies have been rather limited and thus it is still possible that LSD can cause birth defects (though perhaps rarely). Additionally, LSD is similar to compounds which act on the uterus, which are used medically to easy delivery of the placenta and limit postpartum bleeding (ergometrine, for example). Though it may be unlikely (this effect has only been observed in animal studies), it is possible that LSD could cause premature birth and complications through these effects, which lead to contraction of the uterus.

In summary, although there is no definitive evidence that LSD causes complications during pregnancy, it should most certainly be avoided.

There is strong experimental evidence that it causes fetal death (abortive), stillbirths, and stunted development. Some researchers found that the dosage (high or low) was not an element of the level or frequency of malformation or mortality. Any use is dangerous.

Yes. A part of everything the mother eat, drink or inhale will pass over to the baby. And some of it can be real dangerous to a growing baby.
