∙ 15y agoNo the spec to play 360 games is to high as the original xbox does not have the capability to hand the size of the games and the graphics in them. Also 360's patching original xbox games for some games but it can not be done the other way round.

∙ 14y agoYes, it does play some original Xbox games, mostly only the more popular titles. A complete list of compatible games is available at Xbox.com. You must, however, have a hard drive on your console so that the emulation software for the original Xbox games can be installed. Without this emualtion software, your console will not run the original Xbox games.

∙ 14y agoYou can play Xbox games on the Xbox 360 but only if the game you are attempting to play is "backward compatible". By attempting to play certain Xbox games on a Xbox 360 console, you will receive this message: "This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox 360 console." The following is an excerpt taken from the Xbox Web site Support: "You: Why do I receive the error message: This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox 360 console?
Ask Xbox: Error Message: "This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox 360 console"
Original Xbox games require compatibility software (for each game) to run on your Xbox 360 console. You received a compatibility error because you attempted to play a game without the compatibility software. Below are the steps for obtaining the software. For a list of games that are currently backward compatible, visit the web site listed below.
http://www.xbox.com/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm
1. Automatic download from your Xbox: Connect to Xbox Live using your Xbox console, then place your original Xbox game in the disc tray. The system will then automatically check for your game on the compatibility list, then download the required update for your game. If your game is not on the list, you will once again, receive the message "This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox 360 console."
2. Download a file from Xbox.com and burn a DVD or CD: If your console is not connected to a broadband connection, or if you use a dialup connection to the internet you can burn the software onto a CD. You could even do this at a friend's house who has an Internet connection and a DVD or CD burner. For instructions visit the site shown below.
3. Order a disc from Xbox.com: There will be a nominal fee charged for the disc and shipping and handling. For further information, visit:
