If that is what the owners manual says then yes it does.
How do I replace a turbo in 2003 vw passat
there is no 2.8 30v turbo passat. Theres a 1.8 Turbo engine and the 2.8 30V v6.
Depends on the climate and time of year in some regions. Here in the Arizona desert I use Full Synthetic 20W-40 for my turbo engine.
Porsche recommends Mobil 1 Synthetic 0w-40.
yes
if you have a turbo engine you need premium gas, look inside your gas tank door and it will tell you what octane your car requires.
If Audi recommends you use Synthetic then you had better use synthetic. What will happen if you don't? Do you really want to take a chance and find out? I can tell the the very first thing that will happen is the Turbo will fail.
Porsche recommends the use of Mobil 1 synthetic 0-40 weight.

If you have a 1.8T or 2.0T passat, you should ONLY use fully synthetic oil. The turbo is designed for very tight tolerances and must be constantly lubricated to avoid premature failure. Synthetic oil resists thermal breakdown occurring in the extremely hot engine environment better than regular or blended oils. It will cost you about double the price of a regular oil change, but a new turbo can cost you up to $4K installed by your local dealer. Been there....done that.
The cigarette lighter fuse on a 05 Passat 1.8 turbo is located in the fuse box under the dash. It is located in the number 35 spot.
