A stock 91 Camaro that has all its original emissions equipment would need an air tube for the AIR system to function properly and pass an emissions test. However, if you have removed the air pump and related systems, an air tube wouldn't be needed.

Remove fasteners holding exhaust manifold to head.

You are dealing with 2 separate issues you need to look at. The pothole probably damaged a belt in the tire or knocked off a wheelweight or you might want to have the alignment checked. The blowing sound you describe is a plugged exhaust system. Either part of the exhaust system is smashed or the honeycomb matrix (the guts) of your catalytic converter are broken up. Hit the outside of the catalytic converter with a rubber hammer and see if you can hear rattling in your converter. Or possibly the Air tube has broken off the catalytic converter.

I have a 1997 Astro and there are actually three (3) oxygen sensors on it. One on each down tube of the Y before the catalytic converter and one between the catalytic converter and the muffler back toward the rear axle. The one the driver's side Y isn't bad to change. The one on the passenger side is impossible and the one to the rear is tough as well.
