Does a 99 Acura 3.2 TL have an IAT or MAF sensor and where is it?

It has an IAT sensor which is located under the plastic engine cover. It is on the curve at the top right of the intake manifold. It is screwed in and it is grey. There are two wires comming out one is red/yellow other is black green.

The IAT sensor measures the temperature of the intake nmanifold. The ECM uses this sensor reading to set injection timing and adjust the air-fuel ratio. If the fuel mileage and power output of you engine seem low, some owners have found improvement in EGT, fuel economy, and power after cleaning carbon from the IAT sensor in at the rear of the intage manifold. ok, I have the haynes geo repair manual it says code 23 , manifold air temperature (mat) /intake air temperature (iat) sensor circuit code 31 & 32, manifold absolute pressure (map) sensor circuit the above sensors eather need to be replaced or checked for problems with the sensor.

The code 32 for a Subaru vehicle is for the coolant sensor or the oxygen circuit.

If IAT means intake air temp sensor then it is in the box at the air filter along with the baro sensor. hopes that helps mike Mikes right It is located on the Air cleaner cover. It can be checked by disconnecting it and then with a meter set to ohms measure resistance between terminals 5 and 6 at 32 degrees Fahrenheit the reading should be 6.0 at 68 degrees 2.7 and 176 degrees 0.4 The sensor measures the intake air temp in the air cleaner so that it may indicate a temperature different from outside air depending on engine operating state. To check harness use ohm meter also put positive lead on 5 pin in connector other lead to ground ,if there is continuity its ok if not repair harness. Next Place positive lead in pin 6, other lead to ground. switch ignition to on for this one. Should read 4.5-4.9 volts if not repair harness Hope this helps Ray

not sure how long ago this was posted! 32 is a egr circuit code on fuel injected models. it is a baro circuit code on carburated models. 33 is a high voltage detected with the map sensor!

I have a 2002 TL type-S. On the highway I get as high as 32 MPG @72 MPH. Around town around 24 MPG (not leadfooting around in either case).
