The roots of wildlife are damaged by acid rain, which leads to stunted growth or death. Nutrients in the soil are also destroyed by acid rain and the waxy layer on plant's leaves is destroyed. Aquatic life is also effected, the acid rain leads to Mercury and aluminum to come up from the soil and carried into lakes. If a body of water becomes to acidic, the aquatic life will die. Other animals are impacted because lower levels of life are destroyed by the acid rain and they cannot survive without a source of food. Acid rain also peels paint off buildings and causes the fading of colors. Acid rain can lead to corrosion, discoloring and fracturing in buildings.

Acid rain is made up of gases and chemicals. So, when it hits something it will burn it and damage it. In my science book ( because I am in 4th grade) , there is a picture of a statue on top of a building in France, and it was hit by acid rain, so now there are little tiny holes in it.

Acid rain will eat away at the finish of metals and other materials as it rains. Statues, brick building and lakes all suffer from acid rain.
