Does dodo bird fly?
Dodo birds did not fly. They had no natural predators and did not need to fly. Their bones were too dense for flight and they swallowed rocks to aid in digestion, so they were too heavy to take off. Their inability to fly is one of the many reasons that they went extinct so quickly.
The dodo could not fly, as it was quite a heavy bird for its size, and its wings were far too small to support it in flight. Flight was not a requirement for the dodo in its habitat. The dodo became extinct during the 17th century. The last known specimen was believed to have died sometime between 1662 and 1690.
