Milk does not help heal wounds. If you have bitten your tongue, it will heal on it's own; no need to do anything.

Depending on the severity of the bite it can take anywhere from a 2 or 3 days to a little over a week. I speak from personal experience. The only thing to do is use some peroxide to keep it clean and use some warm salt water to help the healing. It might be hard to eat and or feel weird while talking.
