behind dash is a small switch with a small hose hooked to it It may be a vacuum leak on the hose the problem can be the switch gone bad
Clogged oil passage, perhaps in the filter.
I have had a similar problem in the past, and found it to be the TPS ( throttle position sensor)
The bearing in the water pump has failed and the water pump will need replaced.
The causes include low coolant, inoperative radiator fan, serpentine belt, water pump, head gasket.
The Cherokee Laredo usually has an electromagnet in the relay box to close or open the circuit in the fuel pump relay. When it is faulty, it will make more attempts to click on or off and that repetitive process causes the annoying clicking sound.
could be the crank shaft positioning sensor 80 bucksits located on the upper part of the bell of the transmission, drivers side, two screws. been there, done that, good luck, not easy to get to.
Causes include failing fuel pump or engine cam/crankshaft sensors.
The most likely problem is a Head Gasket. Sorry Man.
I had the same problem with a 1999 Expedition and it was a bad plug. Ford had a problem also with the plugs blowing out. It cost me about 1200.00
