Its boiling point is 1330oC. All ionic compounds like potassium iodide have relatively high boiling points. To boil them, ionic bonds (the electrostatic attraction between oppositely charged ions) must be broken in order to separate the ions. These bonds are strong so lots of energy is required, hence high boiling points.

Yes, it has strong enough Van Der Waals force present so Iodine can form a solid. But the energy required to break this bond is relatively weak, therefore has a low melting point.

solid iodine also exists as I2 molecules which are held together through weak vander waal's forces so the melting point of iodine is very low.
