I don't know about Ivermectin as a cure for external parasites. I use it as a heartworm preventative. I have heard it can cure ear mites, but I've never tried it personally.
One product that does claim to cure red mange is Nu-stock. It is available on the 'Net, and in some pet and farm supply stores.
