This really depends on their diet, or whether they are of an age where they will start to spray (usually 4 to 6 months old). Usual urination should not smell, but a cat's spray smells incredibly strong in order to let other cats know of the owner's territory, health and sexual information. Kittens should be neutered and spayed before 6 months old, before they start to spray.

No . Adult felines have a gland used for marking territory when they urinate, making a stronger smell.
