Of course it does running works your abs and tones you up. Not so quick! Running strengthens muscles in mainly the legs and the arms if used correctly and by running you will lose weight so your stomach will go down, but it doesn't tighten the muscles as much. To tone up your stomach (abs) you need to do ab training (resistant training.) There is new ab equipment you can buy that is similar to the machines you walk on, but where you put your feet it is similar to floating, yet walking up hill. If you want faster results then do the resistant ab training.

Short of Liposuction, there's no way to target where to lose fat. You have to try the old fashioned approach of eating less/healthier and exercising more to lose some fat all over. Try to do something that'll get your heart rate up for one hour each day.

You have to watch your diet for every meal.

A good place to start is to stay away from all sodas and everything deep fried. Stuff that's glazed or sugar coated isn't a good idea either. Chocolates will have to go too.

Running is a great way to use up calories, so if you do that regularly, while minding your food you have an excellent chance of losing some belly fat.

Running is one of the best cardio exercises. When you perform this you burn hell a lot of calories. And if you do not feed your body enough calories, then you can not compensate the amount of calories from running. So you may shrink based on your metabolism. So taking care of nutrition plan with high protein and considerable balance in calories will help you from shrinking.

Yes. Cardio activity is a must in getting a flat stomach/slimmer body. muscle/ab work will only build muscle.

It melts away the fat around ur stomach to just reveal muscle. =)
