Lk:22:19: And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Cor:11:24: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Cor:11:25: After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

Catholic Answer

A Christian may never "take" Holy Communion, he may only receive Holy Communion. You should only receive Holy Communion when you are in a worthy state to do so; in other words, you must be in a state of grace (have been to confession recently) and made a proper preparation. If you do all of that, the ideal would be to receive Holy Communion every day, but to receive it in a state of sin, or without proper preparation is extremely dangerous as St. Paul warns us. If in doubt, consult your regular confessor, and do NOT receive Holy Communion until he has given you his okay.

When must Catholics receive communion each year?

Traditionally during Holy Week or the Easter Season, but as long as it is at least one time during the year and after (within eight days of) a confession. Catholics ought to receive communion every mass they attend or compulsarily on Sunday - the Sabbath day. The Holy Communion is the Body of Jesus Christ and the person is blessed after receiving it with faith.

What are the requirements for a person who will be a sponsor in a baptism confirmation or first holy communion?

Can a Catholic receive Holy Communion when he arrives a little time before Holy Communion is distributed?

A priest from our parish said that one must be there at least in time for the Our Father to receive Holy Communion, but, in reality, you probably won't be denied Holy Communion if you arrived after the Our Father. Although you should not really even approach to receive if you are that late. If you have arrived that late, and it is a Sunday, you must either attend another Mass to fulfill your obligation or confess before receiving Holy Communion, as it is a mortal sin to miss a Sunday or Holy Day of Obligation Mass.

Do you have to be baptized to take communion?

Catholics do not 'take' communion, they 'receive' communion. Yes, you must be a baptized Catholic to receive communion in a Catholic Church. Also, you must have undergone instruction and received your First Holy Communion.

Going Catholic how do you do it?

Go to your local church, ask if there are any baptismal ceremonies coming up, get baptized. Then after that, if you are over the age of 18, you must have your First Holy Communion and your Confirmation. You are usually baptized when you are a baby if your family is too and wants you to be Catholic. Then you have your First Holy Communion when you are in second grade, then, when you are 17 or 18, you have you Confirmation. It may take a lot of Religion classes for you to be able to receive First Holy Communion and Confirmation, but if you wish to be Catholic you must go through with it. Then after all of that you must go to mass every Sunday and Holy Days to receive Holy Communion (the Eucharist). Trust me, I'm a Catholic, I know what I'm doing!ANSWER:Cute. :-)1. Visit a Catholic Church in your neighborhood.2. Tell the priest you'd like to consider becoming a Catholic.3. Ask about their RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) program.4. If you were baptized in a non-Catholic Christian denomination, you will not be re-baptized. You'll just need to receive the other Sacraments of Christian initiation: Confession/Reconciliatiion, Holy Communion/Eucharist and ConFIRMation.5. Process takes approximately 4 to 5 months; faster if necessary for some legitimate reason.

Is it true that if you miss one day of Church in Catholic that you can not come back to Church all year?

If you miss Mass on Sunday through no fault of your own it is OK. If you deliberately miss Mass it should be confessed to priest, but you can go to church anytime and not have to wait at all.Catholic AnswerPlease note that you are required by Church Law and by your baptism to attend Mass every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation during the year. If you deliberately miss Mass on a Sunday or Holy Day of Obligation, then you have committed a mortal sin and must go to confession before receiving Holy Communion. However, even if you do not make it to confession, you still must attend Mass, you just may not receive Holy Communion.

How often should you take Communion?

You may never "take" Holy Communion, you may only "receive" Holy Communion. You should receive Holy Communion as frequently as you can, while you are in a state of grace, and have been fasting. You may not receive Holy Communion more than twice a day, and the second time only if you have been to an entire Mass. If you are not in a state of grace, or are not fasting, or have already received Holy Communion that day, you should never receive.

What are three conditions for receiving holy communion worthily?

You must fast an hour before you receive communion and you must be in the state of grace! GOD BLESS. FRIENDSOFTONY.ORG

If miss mass can receive communion without making confession?

If you miss the Consecration of the Eucharist during Mass, you cannot receive Communion at that Mass. If you do get there in time for the Consecration, you can receive Communion, but only if 1) you have not eaten for one hour before, and 2) you have no unconfessed mortal sin on your soul. If you do have mortal sin on your soul, you must go to confession before receiving Communion.
