Czech Republic is parliamentary republic. The Parliament has two chambers upper (Senate) and lower (house of representatives). Both senators and representatives are elected. Senators are elected for 6 years and representatives for 4 years. There are multiple political parties in both chambers of the parliament. Government is formed by prime minister which is named by the president after elections to house of representatives. Usually there are more parties represented in the government, because in order to be legitimate the government has pass vote and get at least 50% of all votes (at least 101). The president is elected directly, for 5 years, has limited powers and is seen as representative figure. The main power is in hands of the prime minister.
