The President does not pay rent in the White House. The President and first lady pay for their food, parties, vacations, butlers, housekeepers, and ushers. If they bring someone on Air Force One who isnâ??t in the official traveling delegation, they have to reimburse the American people the equivalent of a first-class flight.

∙ 11y agoYes and no. The president (all presidents-- not just Mr. Obama) receives a salary and a budget for expenses. So, currently, President Obama receives a salary of $400,000 a year. He also receives a certain amount of money (kind of like an allowance) for entertainment, travel, and clothing. If the president exceeds his budget, it is expected that he will repay the US Treasury, but to be honest, the media generally have not kept close tabs on past or present leaders to see if they do in fact reimburse for extra expenses. The White House is the official residence of our presidents, so Mr. Obama and his family do not pay rent to live there.
