No; beginning in 1870 through 1935 the US Government abrogated (violated) all treaties ever signed with Native American's by acts of the legislature. This abrogation returned all land ownership to Native American tribes although the US Government refuses to vacate the lands taken under those treaties.

Does the US Government currently have any treaties with the Native Americans?

Several. Why do you think they don't pay federal or state taxes, state law enforcement agencies have no jurisdiction on reservations, etc? Many of the treaties drafted in the 1800s are still binding.

Did the government had the right to take the Cherokee off there land?

No. The federal government had no right to take any Native American land.

What were the goals of treaties with American Indians?

Representatives of the federal government of the United States had many different goals in mind when they negotiated treaties with the American Indians. The goals were largely dependent on the period of time when the treaty was signed. Early treaties (prior to 1830) focused largely on nonaggression towards the United States. A fairly common term of early treaties with the Native Americans was that the tribe could not seek nor make an alliance with any foreign nation. This was done to prevent the tribe from aiding any foreign aggressor in their attempt to engage the United States in a war (as they had during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812). Treaties after the Indian Removal Act of 1830 were largely aimed at relocating Indian populations west of the Mississippi River. Furthermore, the treaties contained language that would be used to contain the tribes to a defined piece of land. Some scholars suggest that the federal government wished to make every Native American a subsistence farmer. Legislation such as the Dawes Act of 1887 suggest this is probably true.

In what way did the American revolution affect natives Americans?

The American revolution did not directly effect the lives of Native Americans. Politically little if anything changed; the only difference being that the newly formed United States accepted the terms and obligations of all treaties formally held between Native American governments and governments in Europe (see Delaware Treaty of 1778: Treaty of Fort Pitt) and attempted at least in part to disconnect those Native Governments from any contact (or treaties) with nations from Europe.

What were the reasons for the clashes between the us government and Sioux?

the Americans as well as the American government wanted the land from the Native Americans. the American people wanted it because they measure prosperity and wealth by land, unlike the native Americans. the railroads also influenced the governments policy towards the native Americans. in 1834, the US government passed an act that designated that entire great plains as one enormous reservation (land set aside for NA)then again in 1850, the government changed its policy to open up more land for the whites. they began signing treaties and created definite boundaries for each tribe. the Native Americans, however, did not agree to sign any treaty with the government. this led to tragic results.... WAR! also, keep in mind that American wanted to get to California and Colorado because of the gold! California in 1849 and Colorado in 1858

How were the treaties among the American Indians unfair?

The treaties were, for the most part, unfair due to the fact that the white man shamelessly broke every treaty he ever signed with the native peoples. The Black Hills is just one glaring example of the white man's duplicity. Most of the treaties were a bad bargain for the red man, and became worse when the white man breached the terms of any given treaty. If you are white and do even a rudimentary unbiased reading of American History during the 18th and 19 century, you will blush with shame at the treatment of the American Indian.
