soul Humans are made of three "parts" which we find in 1Thessalonians 5:23 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
The soul and spirit will go to the other side as well as our memories and thoughts. This is shown in Luke 16:19-31 where Jesus talks about a man in hell and we see that he remembered his life on Earth.
But The Bible teaches also that there are two bodies and we will not bare the material one, but the spiritual one:
* "There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body." (1 Corinthians 15:44) * "And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." (1 Corinthians 15:49) There are text from where we can conclude that there are different bodies and different experiences for Christians and non-Christians in the afterlife:
* Christians: "Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father." (Matthew 13:43) * Not Christians: "And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 13:50)
Bare in mind that God's actions and the sacrifice of the Son are for salvation from such a place.
"As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways;" (Ezekiel 33:11)

∙ 15y agoThe body stays on the earth. But the spirit goes to heaven. There it will wait until the resurrection happens. Then the body will be reunited with the spirit, and everything will be restored to its perfect and proper frame. There will be no deformities. Everything will be perfect.
