Yes, contemplated the rhythm of the tides, it appeared as though the land inhaled the water and then paused before exhaling. Then, after the exhalation, there was a momentary resting point when, once again, the earth inhaled. Twice each day, for every season, the rhythmic cycle of the tides repeats itself - no matter what.
