Pregnancy Tests

Does the first of the two lines that appear on a First Response HPT indicate pregnancy or is it the test control?

I've never used an HPT test, but the second line is usually the control. The first line is there if you are pregnant, not there if you aren't. But if there is only one line, you are probably not pregnant. If it is hard to read, take another test in a few days. Be sure to save the box or the paper inside so you can better understand your results. If the results are still not clear, call your doctor or planned parenthood for more advice and help. Planned parenthood should be in your phone book.

In the King James version the word - control - does not appear at all. Nor does it appear as part of another word, such as - self-control.
