"Moderation" means to be "moderate." In this sense, we mean DON'T do things excessively (too much). Eating in moderation means eat a 'regular' amount of things. Do not eat a whole bunch of something. It could mean to eat less fatty foods. It could also mean to eat less of other things, such as salt, sugar, processed food, soda, etc.
