The Earth orbits around the Sun is the simple answer, which is good enough for most people.

However, a more accurate answer is that they both orbit the center of mass of the solar system.

Because the Sun has nearly 99.9 percent of the mass of the solar system, the

Earth orbits a point

that's normally just outside the Sun's surface. So, the simple answer is fairly accurate.

Literally, Earth orbits around the sun.

it rotates on its axis.

but in general,

It does both. It rotates and orbits simultaneously. The rotation is what creates the effects of night and day. The orbit is what creates the seasons in the north and south hemispheres.

It takes Earth 24 hours to make one rotation and 365 days roughly 6 hours to orbit once around the sun.

The sun does NOT orbit around the earth it is the earth that orbits around the sun as well as all the other planets and it orbits possibly because of the gravity force but if the earth will get too close it will burn up and God made it so for us to have perfect conditions
